Bio

As Vice President of Project Management & Estimating, Jim has a unique dual department leadership role that is focused on quality, consistency and efficiency in each respective department. With 39 years of experience in the construction industry, he is involved in the decision-making process and development of each department’s long- and short-term goals. Jim began his career as a construction laborer and he progressed through the ranks from estimating to chief estimator, project manager and then into his current role as a department Vice President.

Joe Sutphin

Director of Field Operations

Bio

With over 24 years in the construction industry, Joseph Sutphin has advanced from union carpenter to Director of Field Operations.
He has led initiatives in operational efficiency, safety compliance, and the integration of AI into field operations.  He oversees complex, multi-million-dollar projects nationwide. Certified in OSHA 30, forklift operation, and holding a PMP credential from the University of California San Diego.  He is known for his leadership, strategic vision, and ability to deliver projects on time and within budget. Outside of work, he is an active community volunteer, baseball coach, and avid surfer.

Bio

Matt graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2009 with dual majors in Accounting and Finance.
For the first eight years of his career, he held various roles in accounting and finance. 
He then decided to enter the construction industry and joined the Carpenters Union for four years.
In September 2023 Matt returned to the accounting world and has been Lead Accountant of Marco Contractors since October 2024.

Bio

Marty started his career in the construction industry in 1993 as a Carpenter/Carpenter Foreman.  In 1994 Marty was promoted to Superintendent, and after five years of experience he advanced to Project Manager.  He has successfully managed commercial projects for retail, restaurant, big box, and specialty clients.  Marty is a respected team leader and always builds great rapport with our clients.  Marco Contractors has been fortunate to have Marty on board for over twenty years.  He is married with two kids and enjoys camping and spending time with his family and three dogs.
